Silver Amulet Game Rules

Since it`s such an easy game, regardless of the outcome, we usually laugh more at how we got there. It`s nice that you can start each turn by looking at 2 of your 5 cards. This gives you at least some information about what you can do. But most of the time, the game depends on the cards you draw in turn. Silver cards are numbered from 0 to 13, and each card has a unique feature, so not all cards are created equal – and they are not all activated in the same way. There are two 0 cards in the deck, and they have no function other than to complete the turn when the two cards are face up in the players` boards (called “villages” in the game). Cards numbered 1 to 4 have continuous benefits when they are in your village and open. However, cards numbered 5 to 12 will only be activated when they are drawn. These range from the simple ability to throw one of your cards face up, to the ability to see a card anywhere on the table, to exchanging one of your cards for any card in an opponent`s village. Card 13, the doppelganger, is the high-risk/high-reward card: if you take it, you can match it to any other card in your village in a future trade, but if you stick to it at the end of the turn, it counts for 13 points, and you`ll probably lose just because of that. The silver amulet can be used to protect a card in that player`s village. It cannot be seen or moved by any player for the rest of the round.

The card will always be counted in the final bill of this round. And if the card is opened when the amulet is placed on it, the “Reveal” ability (cards 1-4) can still be used. The catch is that all cards start face down in a player`s village and players can only look at their cards if an ability during the game allows it. For a card game, the money is particularly well produced: the art is attractive and the cards are of good quality. I like the inclusion of a player assistant: you probably won`t need one after playing a game or two, but it`s useful for teaching the game. But the best additions are the metal amulet token and the stake for the game, both of which are good additions. Silver is the first game in a series – this box is technically Silver Amulet, and the second box with 13 new cards is Silver Bullet – where you can create a custom deck by combining cards from different boxes as long as you make a card for each number. The instructions on the cards are not always consistent in the use of terms such as confusing discard and exchange, so we went back to the card reference booklet several times over the course of half a dozen games. I hope these will be revised or edited in future versions.

I also don`t know if a character named Expose (card number 5) who keeps his jacket open is brazenly humorous or a little cheesy. Choose a random starting player and place the silver amulet on the side of the nearest deck/discard stack. The image creator, developer, viewer, apprentice seer and seer (5-9) will give you all the information about what is the best thing you can have in this game! The game debuted today at Gen Con and seemed to be selling well, and it received early praise from game critics. I had a first copy and it`s one of my favorite games of 2019. There`s a well-designed box insert from Game Trayz, with slots for each card, plus a small slot that holds the amulet. At the beginning of each turn, players choose 2 of the cards from their village that they want to secretly look at. Players are not allowed to see other cards face down during the game, unless an ability allows them to do so. You are not allowed to do anything else when it is your turn (i.e. no face-up skills or place the silver amulet) when you call to vote. After the first, second and third rounds, you play another round.

Shuffle all the cards in the deck and deal four deck of 5 cards. Each player chooses a set. Remove unused sets from the game. Our son Jaden bought Silver Amulet and Silver Bullet after playing it so he could play it with his friends. Since he graduated from university this year and is traveling alone, he doesn`t want to have to borrow my copy – he wants him to be ready for his own game nights with friends. If the player with the silver amulet has not scored the fewest points in the current turn, the equal player closest to the starting player places the silver amulet in front of him near the deck of cards for the next turn.
